Dance For Earth is a morning class & gathering
connecting the dance world and environmental world through an hour of community movement.
Each event is by-donation where funds are directly distributed to a different local organizations supporting our only home (Earth).
Representatives from these orgs come to share not only their dance (as class participants) but also inform initiatives that direct class takers towards the next most meaningful step in the San Diego/Tijuana area.
Noted past recipients include: San Diego Coastkeeper, Groundwork San Diego, Tree San Diego, SD River Park Foundation, San Diego Habitat Conservancy
creating a direct link between artistic practice and ecological action.
Each class is specifically themed based on the work each organization is doing for the environment through a one-hour, high-energy, integrative, guided experience.
All bodies and levels of movement practice are welcome. Expect physical tasks/coordinations, repetitions, witnessing (seeing and being seen), and play.
