Dance For Earth is a morning dance-party/class fundraiser
Connecting community movement education to environmental education.
Each event is by-donation and includes representatives from a different organization to share not only their dance (as class participants) but also inform initiatives that direct class takers towards the next most meaningful step in the San Diego/Tijuana area.
The funds generated are redistributed directly to these local environmental organizations (including past recipients: San Diego Coastkeeper, Groundwork San Diego, Tree San Diego, SD River Park Foundation) creating a direct link between artistic practice and ecological action.
Each class is specifically themed based on the work each organization is doing for the environment through a one-hour, high-energy, integrative, guided experience.
All bodies and levels of movement practice are welcome. Expect physical tasks/coordinations, repetitions, witnessing (seeing and being seen), and play.
